Queen for a Day invites women to explore their own identity and see themselves in a new light. Through dressing up, characterisation, conversation and performance, Queen for a Day is a celebration of women and all that they can be.
From June 2017 we have been working with Staying Put to run a brand new Queen for a Day programme in Shipley, with participants who are survivors of domestic abuse. We have been using creative techniques to explore identity and build self-confidence, encouraging women to explore and show the world how fabulous they are.
The Staying Put group performed a flashmob-style dance piece with music they had recorded themselves with their words about survival at the WOW Festival in Bradford in November 2017. Here is a film of that event.
More photos, film and details of the project will be here soon.

Originally commissioned by We Do as part of their programme, The Gift in Northfield Hall, Huddersfield.
